Under the theme “Change the Cars of the Future”, Toyota has announced new technologies that support its transformation into a mobility company. While explaining the brand's technology strategy, evaluations were made about the direction to be taken in vehicle production. In the context of the roadmap announced in April, Toyota will continue to focus on electrification, smart technologies and technological solutions that meet different needs.

Toyota, which will continue to offer environmentally friendly vehicles in line with customer expectations and market conditions for every region in the field of electrification, will come to the forefront with works such as Woven City, the city of the future, in the field of smart technologies. With different technological solutions, the focus will be on freedom of mobility and offering for everyone.

Starting to invest actively in future-oriented areas in 2016, Toyota transferred more than half of its R&D personnel and nearly half of its expenditures to Advanced Development as of this year. Toyota plans to further increase these figures in the coming period.

1000 kilometers range on a single charge

However, Toyota's factory, which will be used only for fully electric vehicles, will mark the change in electric vehicles of the coming period in terms of production and transformation. Along with innovations such as new generation battery technologies and sonic technology, Toyota plans to offer cars that provide a range of 1000 kilometers on a single charge, while supporting the aerodynamic performance of vehicles with artificial intelligence for more stylish designs.

In the production area with the new factory, the adoption of major casting technologies will contribute to the reduction of tool development costs and plant investment and shorten processes.

Toyota, which will present the new generation fully electric vehicles on a global scale, will introduce models that appeal to all segments in 2026. By 2030, 3.5 million of 1.7 million electric vehicles will be produced at the electric vehicle factory.

However, hydrogen markets in Europe, China and North America will be by far the largest markets in 2030 and the fuel cell market is expected to expand rapidly to this point, reaching 5 trillion yen per year. While the sales of fuel cells using Mirai's hydrogen units were also encouraged, more than 2030 external fuel cell sales offers were received by 100. With such supports, it is aimed to increase the supply with the wider use of hydrogen and to bring the prices to reasonable levels.
