Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), of which Borusan Otomotiv is the Turkey distributor, has announced its electrification roadmap. As part of the electrification plans, JLR's Halewood Plant in England will host the production of a new generation of compact and all-electric vehicles.
Announcing that it will invest £15 billion in electrification transformation over the next five years, the company will produce electric versions of all its models by 2030 on the Land Rover side as part of its Reimagine Strategy. Jaguar will become an all-electric brand in this process. In addition, JLR underlines that they have taken important steps towards their goal of becoming carbon neutral in all their operations, from supply chain to production processes by 2039.
First Electric Range Rover to be unveiled in 2023
Accelerating its electrification journey, JLR is making its next-generation mid-size SUV architecture all-electric. Announcing that it will invest £15 billion over the next five years as part of its plans to prioritize electric mobility, the company will introduce its first all-electric Range Rover model in the last quarter of 2023. The first of the next-generation mid-size modern luxury SUVs will be an all-electric model from the Range Rover family. It will also be produced at the Halewood manufacturing facility in Merseyside in 2025. Depending on market expectations, JLR will continue to offer internal combustion engine, hybrid and fully electric engine options, thanks to the flexible modular architecture (MLA) structure of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
First New Electric Jaguar Models Hit the Road in 2025
Stating that the world introduction of three new electric Jaguar models is nearing the end, Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mardell shared that they anticipate customer deliveries to begin in 2025. Announced to be a four-door GT to be produced in the West Midlands, the new Jaguar will offer higher power than previous electric Jaguar models and have a range of up to 700 km. More details on the 4-door GT Jaguar, which will be built on the new body architecture JEA, are scheduled to be announced later this year.
