Owners of Chevrolet’s third-generation Traverse are facing system issues such as coolant leaks and low level warnings on the dashboard, which have been reported primarily in the 2024 model year, but also in the 2025 and 2026 models. The increasing number of complaints on social media brings to the fore not only breakdowns, but also long wait times for repairs due to serious delays (weeks or even months) in the supply of spare parts such as radiators and hoses.
Recurrent Breakdowns and Repair Delays
Customer feedback suggests that the repair process is a test of patience. Some users report that after dealer repair, the part fails again within a short period of time and they end up in a repair-and-wait cycle. This exacerbates the loss of trust caused by the lack of transparency of repair instructions and parts flow.
General Motors (GM) has announced that it is working with its dealer network to determine the cause of this cooling system issue affecting some Traverse model years 2024-2026. While an official service bulletin has not yet been issued, GM has confirmed that dealers are able to make the necessary repairs and has pledged to increase parts availability while it works to pinpoint the root cause. This approach signals an effort to speed up the procurement process while official repair orders are on their way.
It is notable that these complaints are not currently common for the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave models, which are closely related to the Traverse. Although such technical glitches are not unexpected after the launch of a new generation, how quickly and permanently GM will bring solutions to these problems will be decisive in terms of customer satisfaction.
