Mayor of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Yusuf Alemdar came together with the mukhtars at the breakfast programme of All Adapazarı Mukhtars Association and shared the decisive steps to strengthen the public transport culture in the city. Alemdar emphasised that the most important parameter of transportation is public transport and stated that they strive to provide a safe, cheap and comfortable public transport to the people of Sakarya.
Alternatives in Public Transport
In his speech to the mukhtars, Mayor Alemdar explained the new transport vision and the new transport culture that concerns the whole Sakarya. At the centre of this vision is a holistic investment plan that will facilitate transportation from one end of the city to the other. Within the scope of this plan, in addition to the new transport fleet, the strengthening of Metrobus and the existing ADARAY line has an important place.
Metrobus, Rail System and ADARAY Expansion:
Alemdar, who announced that therail system works will start in a short time, stated that the metrobus will be adapted to the city together with the rail system.
The target of extending theADARAY line to Mekece was described as a historical step for Sakaryans.
The railway targets to run between Arifiye-Karasu were also mentioned.
Emphasis on Working Together
Mayor Alemdar stated that with all these projects, they aim to ensure that 1 million Sakarians have all alternatives in public transport. Stating that mukhtars are the people who work for the future of their neighbourhoods, he said that they will continue to work diligently together to create a city culture, to protect the law of brotherhood and to keep the values of the past alive. At the end of the programme, Alemdar visited the tradesmen in the region and once again showed his determination to increase the quality of transportation and social life in Sakarya.
