IRCTC’s Golden Chariot train, offering a luxury tourism package, reached Madgaon Railway Station on Thursday. A caravan of international tourists flocked to the city to explore Goa’s rich cultural heritage on this special train. Such luxury and thematic tours are seen as part of the goal of promoting sustainable tourism in Goa.
At the event, where locals warmly welcomed foreign tourists, Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte made a statement. “This partnership is an example of how high-quality tourism can benefit communities,” Khaunte said. He also emphasised that focusing on this cultural heritage helps to diversify the economy by spreading the number of tourists throughout the year.
Luxury Experience and Sustainability Target
The group of 26 foreign tourists were particularly interested in the historic churches of North Goa, which have a Portuguese heritage. The unparalleled comfort, history and culture-filled experience offered by the Golden Car train continues to attract travellers from around the world seeking deep experiences.
“The arrival of the Golden Car train confirms the international community’s interest in Goa’s culture,” Tourism Director Kedar Naik said. Naik stated that the department focuses on projects that combine the preservation of cultural heritage with good hospitality services.
After the Goan stage, the group will continue its journey towards Bengaluru. This itinerary offers tourists the opportunity to responsibly enjoy the land, people and culture of South India. The authorities plan to increase co-operation with IRCTC and other private sector players to attract tourists to Goa throughout the year to experience the true face of sustainable tourism. Train tickets are available on the official portal of IRCTC.
