Turkish Automotive Supply Industry Seeks New Exports to Italy

Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB) organized a fair in Italy. Turkey participated in the Autopromotec Fair, which is held every two years in Bologna, Italy and is one of the biggest fairs in its field in Europe, with 11 companies. Turkish automotive companies exhibited their products in the supply industry at the fair held between 25-28 May. In the organization attended by OIB Board Member Müfit Karademirler and OİB Supervisory Board Member Ali Kemal Yazıcı, Turkish and Italian automotive companies held important meetings for mutual cooperation opportunities in the sector and increasing trade. Turkish companies, which also held bilateral meetings with procurement committees from different countries, found new business opportunities at the fair.

Turkey is the 4th country from which Italy imports the most automotive.

The Italian market occupies an important place for the Turkish automotive industry. Italy imports the most from Turkey after Germany, Spain and France in automotive imports. Turkey realized an automotive export of approximately 15 billion dollars to Italy last year, with an increase of 2,5 percent compared to the previous year. The Turkish automotive industry managed to get a 5,8 percent share of Italy's automotive imports with its exports.

While the prominent product in Turkey's exports to Italy was passenger cars with 882,6 million dollars, this product was followed by the supply industry with 778,4 million dollars and motor vehicles for transporting goods with 572,8 million dollars.

Turkey, which increased its exports to Italy in April of this year, recorded an increase of 5,6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and realized 212 million dollars of exports. The Turkish automotive industry aims to increase exports to Italy, which is one of the most important export markets, in 2022, to over $2,5 billion.
