Smart #3 unveiled at IAA Mobility

Smart has officially unveiled its new compact SUV #3 at the IAA Mobility show. The vehicle will be offered in two different versions, single-engine and twin-engine.

The single-engine Smart #3 produces 268 horsepower (200 kilowatts), while the twin-engine Smart #3 Brabus produces a total of 422 horsepower (315 kW), one on each axle. It is worth noting that the standard Smart #3 takes 0 seconds to accelerate from 100-5.8 km/h, while the Brabus model does it in just 3.7 seconds.

The most efficient single-engine Smart #3 has a range of 455 kilometers (283 miles) according to the WLTP, while the twin-engine model drops that figure slightly to 435 kilometers (270 miles).

The automaker is also introducing a special version celebrating the 25th anniversary of the brand at the IAA Mobility fair. Based on the top-of-the-line Brabus model, the 25th Anniversary Edition features special features such as a panoramic roof, raised LED headlights, red accents and custom bi-colour black and white leather seats with headrests.

Both the Brabus model and the 25th Anniversary version will offer top-of-the-line interior features, including a 12.8-inch touchscreen, 9.2-inch HD digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch head-up display and a 13-speaker Beats audio system.

Following the official European debut of the Smart #3 at IAA Mobility, the compact SUV will be available by the end of 2023, with customers in Europe getting one in 2024. Pricing information has not been announced yet.
