The source of the name
In 1897, the Austrian merchant living in Nice, France and Austrian Consul General in Nice, Emil Jellinek, visited the Daimler factory and bought a car. Having good relations with the international financial world and the aristocracy, Jellinek has attracted great interest in the French Riviera with its Daimler car. Later, Jelinek gave a Daimler race car equipped with a 1899-horsepower engine in 23 and named her older daughter Mercedes, and participated in a race in Nice with this vehicle and came first.
