Number of Vehicles Registered in Türkiye Exceeds 33 Million

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has published its Motor Vehicle Statistics for September 2025. The data revealed a decrease in the number of registered vehicles compared to both the previous month and the same period last year. However, the share of electric and hybrid vehicles in the total number of vehicles continued to increase.

Monthly and Annual Registrations Declined

In September 2025, a total of 196,338 vehicles were registered. Nearly half of these vehicles (45,3%) were motorcycles, while 40,9% were cars. The number of vehicles registered decreased by 8,7% compared to the previous month, and a 7,6% decrease was recorded year-on-year (compared to September of the previous year). In the first nine months of the year, the total number of vehicles registered was 1,758,680, a 10,3% decrease compared to the same period of the previous year. As of the end of September, the total number of vehicles registered in Turkey reached 33,020,263.

The Rise of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
