The Opel Mokka, which was renewed in 2025, won first place by a large margin, receiving almost 50 percent of the votes of 14 readers of the German automobile magazine auto motor und sport, and won the "2025 Best Design Innovation" award.
At the Autonis Awards, readers voted the new Opel Mokka the "2025 Best Design Innovation" in the "Small SUV/Crossover" category. Winning this prestigious award, the Mokka received 49,6 percent of the votes. With this success, the Mokka continued Opel's tradition of winning awards at Autonis. In 2022, the Opel Rocks won the award, and the following year, readers voted the Opel Corsa, Germany's most popular B-shaped hatchback, first in its category.
Commenting on the award, Patrick Dinger, Opel Germany Brand Director, said, “The Opel Mokka is now more assertive, leaner, and sharper than ever. We've made improvements in the right areas to make this best-selling model even more confident and appealing to our customers. We're delighted that Auto Motor und Sport readers agreed with us and chose the Mokka as the most stylish small SUV. I can confidently say that the new Mokka GSE, designed to excite with its performance and design, will make car enthusiasts even happier.”
The new Opel Mokka GSE, which recently made its world premiere at the IAA Mobility Fair in Munich, has been met with considerable interest from car enthusiasts. This performance-focused electric SUV, with its stylish design, impresses not only as a high-performance electric vehicle but also with its diverse range of options.
The Opel Mokka can be summed up in three words: modern, compact, and stylish. Opel's best-selling SUV has always had a striking character, and the "Lightning Logo" branding has added even more appeal to the model this year. This is due, on the one hand, to its sharpened design. Opel underscores the Mokka's visual power with soft touches. The latest Opel Lightning Logo, a more modern interpretation of the LED signature on the front and rear light blocks, and black details extending from the hood to the side design lines complete this effect. Furthermore, the Mokka also stands out with its new exterior colors. Exclusive to the Mokka, the metallic colors Kolibri Blue and Tropical Green, along with the flat-tone Graphic Grey, underscore the striking appearance of this eye-catching SUV.
But the Mokka's surprising impact extends far beyond its body design. The interior has also been revamped: The steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom, not only gives the car a sporty character, but also brings the Opel Visor with its Lightning Bolt logo in the center into the cabin. The horizontal lines highlight the Opel compass, also featured on the exterior. The center console, gleaming in matte silver, offers an even sharper look than before. Designers and engineers have integrated some settings previously controlled via buttons into the central digital infotainment system as touch controls. The cockpit design, meanwhile, has been enhanced to evoke a newer, more attractive, and more luxurious feel. For example, the remaining buttons for the electric parking brake and selectable driving modes are derived from the Opel Grandland, a premium SUV.
With its sharp exterior lines and simple, digital interior design, the Opel Mokka won the hearts of Auto Motor und Sport readers. For the 25th time, readers voted online for their favorite designs. This year, a total of 14 readers cast their votes. A total of 117 new products competed in 13 categories.
