New Era at Citroen: Xavier Chardon Appointed

Stellantis is continuing its search to decide who will lead Citroen during one of the most turbulent periods in the automotive industry, after former CEO Carlos Tavares, the French-Italian owner of the Jeep and Peugeot brands, left suddenly in December following a dramatic decline in sales and profits.

Stellantis Group, to which Citroen is affiliated, announced that the process of determining its top executives is nearing completion. The new leader of the group was appointed Xavier ChardonHe held various positions at Citroen between 1994 and 2012, most recently serving as the brand's general manager in France.

Xavier Chardon has also held important positions at Volkswagen, serving as European sales director and, for the last four years, as president of France. Chardon takes on his new role at Citroen 2 June will start from the date.

The group also announced that Koskas will be Stellantis’ Chief Operating Officer for Extended Europe. Jean Philippe ImparatoHe also stated that he will report to his predecessor, who has been managing the brand since 2023, the group spokesman said. Thierry Koskasannounced that he will be leaving Stellantis.
