
Toyota's Successes in Europe
According to a statement from Toyota, the 2023 results showed a 4% increase compared to the previous year. This achievement includes different models such as full hybrid, plug-in hybrid, full electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, as a result of Toyota's multi-mobility strategy in Europe.
While the total sales rate of vehicles with electrification technology increased to 74%, more than 900 thousand vehicles were sold in this category. Looking at the sales figures, fully electric vehicle sales increased by 18%, plug-in hybrid sales by 36% and full hybrid sales by 9%.
In terms of the Toyota brand, a total of 3 vehicles were sold, an increase of 1%. With this performance, Toyota achieved the title of being the second most preferred brand in Europe for the fourth time in a row. In the commercial vehicle segment, Toyota Professional reached a sales figure of 128 units.
Production in Turkey
Models such as the Toyota C-HR produced in Turkey have become among the most preferred vehicles in the European market. In 2023, the Yaris Cross sold 204 units, the Yaris 787 units, the Corolla family 176 units, the Toyota C-HR 782 units, the Aygo X 163 units and the RAV393 131 units. Toyota's 622 goals also resonated in the Turkish market. The company sold more than 97 vehicles in the January-December period, reaching its highest annual sales figure in Turkey.
Hybrid Leader
Toyota maintained its leadership in full hybrid sales by achieving a 58% market share in the hybrid vehicle segment. Toyota's SUV segment models have attracted great interest among Turkish consumers. Popular models such as the Yaris Cross Hybrid, Toyota C-HR Hybrid and RAV4 accounted for 19% of sales in Turkey, with a total of 275 units sold. The Land Cruiser Prado model, which was introduced to the Turkish market in October, also made a significant contribution to this success.
