Peugeot 5008's Renewed Model Introduced in Istanbul
Peugeot introduced the brand's largest SUV model, the 5008, at a special event in Istanbul. At the launch meeting, Peugeot Turkey General Manager Gupse Kaplan shared her year-end evaluations of the automotive sector and her predictions for the next year.
Peugeot's Global Success
Gupse Kaplan emphasized that Peugeot is a brand operating in 150 countries and that it alone realizes one-fifth of the Stellantis Group's global sales and one-third of its European sales. Kaplan stated that a global sales success of approximately 2024 thousand units was achieved as of the first 10 months of 900 and that they are aiming for sales of 70 thousand and above in Turkey this year, as they did last year. Kaplan stated that as of October, we were the country that sold the most Peugeots in the Middle East and Africa region and said, “As Peugeot Turkey, we constitute 6 percent of global sales and realize 60 percent of the sales of the region we are affiliated with.”
Market Forecasts and Expectations
Kaplan stated that they stand behind the statement they made at the beginning of the year that the market would exceed 1 million, and said, “At this point, I can say that we made an accurate prediction regarding our general market forecast. The Turkish market has now settled into the 1 million band under normal conditions. We think that 10 percent of total sales this year will be electric and the market will realize over 100 thousand electric sales.”
2023 New Models Introduced in 11
Peugeot Turkey General Manager Kaplan stated that they introduced 2023 new models in 11. “2024 will be a transformation period for us. We renewed our models that made up 60 percent of our sales last year. We launched a new model in almost every segment. As of November, we are the leader in the B-SUV segment with our 2008 model and the second most preferred brand among all SUVs sold in Turkey. We are the leader worldwide with the Peugeot 408. We are in first place among countries selling 408s, including France. The new Rifter and Partner are leaders in their own segments,” he added.
Price and Features of the New 5008
- Peugeot Türkiye has launched its new models in the 7-seat SUV segment, the 5008 and the fully electric E-5008, in Turkey.
- The Peugeot 5008 stands out with its length of 4,79 meters and its wheelbase of 2,89 meters.
- The hybrid version of the 5008 combines a 136 horsepower gasoline engine with 48V electric assistance.
- The fully electric E-5008 model offers an environmentally friendly and efficient option with its 210 horsepower engine and 472-kilometer range.
- Thanks to its fast charging feature, the E-5008's battery can reach 30 percent charge in 80 minutes.
- The new Peugeot 5008 is offered for sale with prices starting from 2 million 580 thousand liras, while the fully electric E-5008 is offered for sale with prices starting from 2 million 750 thousand liras.
