The new SUV model Frontera, which stands out as a new and solid interpretation of the bold and simple design philosophy of the German automotive manufacturer Opel, which brings the technology of the future to the present, is gradually starting to hit the roads in European markets.
German carmaker Opel is gradually introducing its new electric Frontera model to customers, primarily in Europe. This enjoyable and spacious new SUV, which is the first representative of Opel's new lightning bolt logo, will be available in Turkey in the spring of 2025.
Like all new Opel models, the new Frontera impresses not only with its bold and simple design, but also with its performance that prioritizes environmental responsibility. In addition to the fully electric model, customers can also choose versions with 48V hybrid technology and high-efficiency power units.
For customers who prefer emission-free mobility, the new 83% electric Frontera Electric will be available with 113 kW (44 hp) of power and 100 kWh of usable battery capacity. The Frontera Electric can travel a maximum of 305 kilometres (according to WLTP) between charges. The new fully electric model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 12,1 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 140 km/h.
The Frontera Electric’s regenerative braking system helps to recover energy during deceleration, contributing to efficiency like all electric Opel models. When the new Frontera Electric, which is family-friendly, needs to be charged, a short break at a fast charging station is sufficient. The new Frontera Electric can be charged from 26 percent to 20 percent of its battery capacity in approximately 80 minutes at a direct current charging station. For home charging, it is offered as standard with a single-phase 11 kW on-board charger.
The new Frontera Electric will expand its product range with another 400% electric version offering even greater range in order to offer Opel customers freedom of choice. In the “long-range” version of the new Frontera Electric, a range of up to around XNUMX kilometres (preliminary value according to WLTP) will be possible.
The new Opel Frontera Hybrid is available with a 48 kW (100 hp) turbocharged gasoline engine with 136-volt hybrid technology. The hybrid solution stands out as the perfect choice for users looking for electric transportation but do not yet want to change their driving and usage habits. The compact system, consisting of a 1,2-liter gasoline engine, a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and an electric 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, offers many advantages as an intelligent and cost-effective drive system solution in daily use.
Finally, the advanced driver assistance systems in the new Opel Frontera ensure that the driver and passengers reach their destination safely and comfortably. Electronic driver assistance systems include Forward Collision Warning with Active Emergency Braking System and Pedestrian Detection, Driver Fatigue Detection System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Speed Limiter and rear view camera.
