Mercedes-Benz Türk Signature in Electric Bus Test

Mercedes-Benz Turk's E-Mobility Studies

Mercedes-Benz Türk, which continues important developments in e-mobility in Turkey under the roof of Daimler Buses Solutions, plays a critical role in the electric transformation process in our country with the electric solutions it offers. The new Mercedes-Benz eIntouro, introduced at the event, stands out as a prototype model close to serial production to meet the need for electric mobility for intercity and short-distance travel routes. In addition, the new Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K model offers compact e-mobility, while the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro Fuel Cell has also implemented a hydrogen-powered “H2 mode” that can be used in certain operating scenarios.

The company also presented the new NMC4 battery, which offers more capacity and a longer service life, Daimler Buses Solutions, which provides versatile electromobility services, and OMNIplus, which stands for new digital services for electric buses.

Mercedes-Benz Turk Signature

Mercedes-Benz Türk carries out e-mobility studies in Turkey under the roof of Daimler Buses Solutions and undertakes an important mission for the future in the brand's critical models. Many stages of the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro, the first electric bus produced by Daimler Truck in 2018, such as interior equipment, bodywork, exterior coatings, electrical infrastructure, diagnostic systems, road tests and equipment durability tests, were carried out by the company's Istanbul R&D Center. The first prototype of the eCitaro covered a distance of approximately 2 thousand kilometers in Turkey's difficult climate conditions and different driving scenarios for 140 years.

Having undergone rigorous tests within the framework of Turkey's international responsibility, the fully electric eCitaros continue to provide service in various cities in Europe.

Capacity Increase with New NMC4 Battery

Daimler Buses presented its fourth generation lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC4) batteries at the event. The new NMC4 battery generation combines high energy density, which enables electric buses to offer longer ranges, with a long service life. The long service life of these batteries is achieved through a soft charging process with a maximum charging capacity of 150 kW and fast charging up to 300 kW. The new NMC4 batteries will be available in the eCitaro, eCitaro G, eCitaro K and eCitaro fuel cell models from the beginning of 2026.

Versatile Electromobility from a Single Source

Daimler Buses Solutions actively supports transportation companies in their transition to electromobility by providing consultancy services. Working with staff specialized in the design, construction and consultancy of electromobility infrastructure, the company is able to offer the entire e-mobility ecosystem from a single source on demand.

New Digital Services for Electric Buses

In the field of digital services, OMNIplus is expanding its range of services with additional services specific to electric buses. As a new innovation, the OMNIplus ON Battery Monitoring service provides fleet operators with information on the status of high-voltage batteries and recommendations for efficient use. The free Warranty Status service provides insights into the warranty status of the battery, preventing possible warranty breaches. In addition, for the new eIntouro model, OMNIplus plans to offer over-the-air software updates in the future, without requiring a workshop visit.
