Hyundai Assan Starts a New Era in Vocational Education
Hyundai Assan has once again demonstrated its commitment to education and social responsibility projects by opening a new laboratory to provide support to technical and vocational high schools. This new laboratory aims to contribute to the professional development of students in the automotive sector, as well as to provide qualified personnel to the Turkish automotive industry.
The “Hyundai Body Technologies Laboratory”, which was established at Istanbul Bağcılar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, was designed to provide training especially in the field of paint and body repair. The laboratory will provide training to train experts in advanced body repair techniques, welding technologies, new generation paint applications, surface preparation and mini repairs in accordance with brand standards in order to ensure that vehicle chassis and body strength are kept at the highest level after damage.
Hyundai Assan will offer graduates the opportunity to do an internship at the brand’s authorized service centers with the facilities provided by the laboratory. Students who successfully complete their internships will have the opportunity to work at authorized services with employment priority if needed. In this way, Hyundai Assan, which aims to increase current customer satisfaction with experienced personnel, donated advanced equipment such as “Computerized chassis correction bench, welding machines, plasma cutting device, sanding and sandblasting cabin, paint drying oven, paint guns, gun washing set and mobile sanding machine” for the laboratory.
In addition, the body of the i20 model produced in the Hyundai Assan Izmit Factory and an i20 car were allocated to the laboratory in order to contribute to the education of the students.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hyundai Assan President and CEO Sangsu Kim emphasized the importance of the new laboratory and made the following statements: “Vocational and technical high schools in Turkey and around the world play a very important role in training qualified personnel. In the past, we have donated vehicles and equipment to many technical education institutions. However, today, we are going one step beyond all of this and opening our own class on body and paint technologies. While we systematically transfer the automobile technologies developed by our brand to our students and teachers within a certain plan, we will also continue to support our educational institutions with our donations.”
The opening ceremony was attended by senior Hyundai officials, Istanbul Deputy Governor Mustafa Kaya, Bağcılar District Governor Abdullah Uckun, Provincial Director of National Education Murat Mücahit Yentür, General Director of National Education Vocational and Technical Education Ali Karagöz, Bağcılar District Director of National Education Mehmet Sansar, Consul General of the Republic of Korea Woo Sung Lee, school administrators, teachers and students.
