Automotive Industry’s November Exports Increased by 2,3 Percent

According to OIB data, the Turkish automotive industry's November exports increased by 2,3 percent to $3 billion 241 million, while the sector ranked first in Turkey's exports. The automotive industry's total exports in the January-November period increased by 6 percent to $33 billion 732 million.

OIB Board Chairman Baran Çelik: “In November, we recorded a 9 percent increase in exports to EU countries, reaching 2,3 billion dollars. While we experienced a 20 percent increase in passenger cars and a 7 percent increase in the supply industry, there was also a 33 percent increase to France, our largest market. Our exports to Germany fell by 9 percent.”

According to Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB) data, the Turkish automotive sector's November exports increased by 2,3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 3 billion 241 million dollars. The sector, which ranks first in Turkish exports, also received a share of 16,6 percent. The automotive industry's total exports in the 11-month period of the year increased by 6 percent, reaching 33 billion 732 million dollars.

While there was a 20 percent increase in passenger cars and a 7 percent increase in the supply industry, there was a 33 percent increase to France, our largest market. Our exports to Germany decreased by 9 percent.”

Supply industry exports increased by 7 percent

Last month, the exports of the Supply Industry, the largest product group, increased by 7 percent to 1 billion 326 million. Passenger Cars exports increased by 20 percent to 1 billion 139 million dollars, Motor Vehicles for the Transport of Goods exports decreased by 21 percent to 394 million dollars, Bus-minibus-midibus exports decreased by 13 percent to 236 million dollars and Tractor Trucks exports decreased by 48 percent to 90 million dollars.

The country with the highest exports in the Supply Industry was Germany, with exports to this country increasing by 7 percent. Among the important markets, there was a 16 percent increase to France, a 65 percent increase to Romania, a 17 percent increase to the USA, a 34 percent increase to Spain, and a 47 percent decrease to Russia.

In passenger cars, there was an increase of 59 percent in important markets such as France, 126 percent in Italy, 28 percent in Poland, 167 percent in Slovenia and 118 percent in Belgium.

In motor vehicles for the transport of goods, there was a decrease of 11 percent in the United Kingdom, 22 percent in Belgium, 38 percent in Italy, 15 percent in Germany and 14 percent in Spain.

In the bus-minibus-midibus product group, exports to the most important markets, France, increased by 87 percent and the United Kingdom by 117 percent, while there was a decrease of 63 percent to Germany, 27 percent to Italy and 35 percent to Spain.

Exports to France increased by 33 percent

Last month, France was the largest country market with a 33 percent increase in exports, reaching $393 million. Germany was exported with a 9 percent decrease, reaching $393 million, and Italy with a 25 percent increase, reaching $360 million. Exports to Slovenia increased by 53 percent, Belgium by 25 percent, the US by 14 percent, Romania by 16 percent, Morocco by 16 percent, and the Czech Republic by 13 percent, while Russia fell by 45 percent, the Netherlands by 41 percent, and Portugal by 24 percent.

Exports to EU Countries increased by 9 percent

In November, exports to the European Union countries, the largest country group with a share of 72,4 percent, increased by 9 percent to $2 billion 333 million. Other European countries ranked second with a share of 11 percent, while exports decreased by 5 percent. Again, exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States decreased by 28 percent, to African countries by 27 percent, and to Middle Eastern countries by 31 percent.
