Mercedes-Benz Turk Introduced New Driving Safety Systems

Mercedes-Benz Türk activates the emergency braking system in the event of a collision risk with the Active Brake Assistant 6 in the new generation Mercedes-Benz Travego and Tourismo.

Active Brake Assistant 6 in Mercedes-Benz Travego and Tourismo buses, signed by Mercedes-Benz Türk, activates the active braking system in case of a risk of rear-end collision with vehicles or fixed obstacles in front. The system, which can also detect stationary and moving pedestrians and cyclists in front of the vehicle, gives the driver an audible and visual warning while automatically initiating partial braking. The system also prevents negative situations by performing emergency braking according to the driver's reaction. Active Brake Assistant 6, which contributes greatly to the prevention of accidents, remains active as long as it is not turned off in the background.

Mercedes-Benz Türk recommends that this system, which is vital for driving safety, not be manually turned off by the driver. The ABA 10 safety system, which also responds to pedestrians and cyclists between speeds of 60 km/h and 6 km/h, automatically brakes pedestrians crossing the road or oncoming pedestrians and cyclists moving in the vehicle's own lane. This automation maximizes safety for pedestrians and cyclists in both intercity and urban traffic. It keeps driving safety at a high level by applying partial and/or full braking against vehicle traffic at high speeds on intercity roads.

Side Protection Assistant stands out as a safety assistant that supports the driver in critical situations when making right or left turns where the field of vision is limited. Designed to help detect obstacles moving within its limits, to avoid critical situations or to warn the driver when turning and changing lanes, the system continuously scans the side areas of the vehicle. In this way, vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists that may be on the right, left and in the blind spot of the vehicle can be detected. The radar system accurately detects movements and warns the driver of possible collisions, while the intuitive user interface and clear warnings ensure that the driver drives safely and comfortably.

Thanks to GPS and camera support, the system constantly compares the vehicle speed with current traffic regulations and quickly provides appropriate and relevant feedback in case the permitted speed is exceeded. Thanks to the easy, understandable and practical instrument panel, the driver is informed with visual and audible signals that draw attention to the maximum speed limits.

The wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring System, displayed on the multi-function display, continuously monitors the air pressure of all tires, contributing to driving safety with correct tire pressure and significantly contributing to fuel economy. The sensors record tire pressure data and transmit it to the display device. In this way, tire pressure information, one of the most vital elements, becomes available to the driver at all times.

Attention Assistant warns the driver with visual and audible warnings when the driver starts to show signs of inattention and fatigue. The system, which becomes active above 60 km/h, creates the driver's driving profile from the moment the drive begins. The system warns when there are deviations from this profile.

The Cyber Security System in the vehicle protects the control units and system components against unauthorized access and hacker attacks that may come from outside. The system works by focusing on the safety of life and property, vehicle functionality, road users' financial risks and personal data.
