Kia Continues to Move Forward with Its Electric Models: Ev3 and New Ev6 in Turkey

Kia's Electric SUV Model EV3 Launched in Turkey

Kia has launched its long-awaited EV3 electric SUV model, which has been nominated for the Car of the Year award, on the Turkish market. The EV3 opens the doors to a new era in the compact SUV segment by offering a combined range of up to 604 km and a range of up to 772 km in urban driving conditions. In addition, the new EV6 model, which previously won the Car of the Year award and attracted attention with its stylish design, has also been brought to Turkey.

Launch Event in Istanbul

Kia introduced the EV3 and New EV6 at a launch event in Istanbul. Bringing together the superior technologies of the award-winning EV6 and EV9, the Kia EV3 made an ambitious entry into the electric SUV market with a segment-leading urban driving range of up to 772 km. The New EV6 meets its enthusiasts by updating its stylish design. The New EV6 offers its users a unique electric vehicle experience with its 18V ultra-high-speed charging infrastructure that can charge from 10% to 80% in just 800 minutes.

Statements by Kia Türkiye General Manager Can Ağyel

Speaking at the launch, Kia Turkey General Manager Can Ağyel said, “We stand out as one of the brands that lead our sector in electrification for a sustainable world. We provide this leadership both globally and nationally. Within the framework of the Plan S strategy that we announced at the end of 2020, we stated that we will develop 2030 electric models by 14. EV6 and EV9 are the first vehicles created in line with this strategy. With EV3, we have increased the number of our fully electric models to four and we are crowning our transformation journey, which has been ongoing for about four years, with EV3.”

Ağyel emphasized that Kia is one of the leading brands in the electrification process and said, “The automotive sector has a great responsibility for global zero emission targets. We believe in the importance of electrification to protect our planet and leave a livable world for our future generations. Kia aims to sell 2030 million vehicles globally in 4,3 and achieve 40% of its total sales from electric vehicles. As Kia Turkey, we plan to achieve 2024% of our total sales from fully electric vehicles in 11. We will increase this rate to 45% next year. In this way, we aim to reach the global target five years earlier.”

An Exciting Driving Experience

The EV3’s 604 km WLTP range extends to 772 km in urban driving conditions. Thanks to i-Pedal technology, drivers can adjust the level of regenerative braking via paddles behind the steering wheel, allowing for a more flexible driving experience without using the brake pedal. The EV3’s aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of just 0,263 offers top-level efficiency and performance. 400V fast-charging technology allows the EV3 to charge batteries from 58,3% to 29% in 81,4 minutes for the 31 kWh battery capacity version and in 10 minutes for the 80 kWh version.

Featuring a high-efficiency heat pump, EV3 offers maximum comfort and optimum power usage in all weather conditions without losing range. Focusing on the dynamics of city life, Kia engineers prioritized steering precision and driving control; thus, EV3 offers agility on narrow streets and superior performance on highways and corners.

Technology and Comfort

The spacious interior of the EV3 is equipped with features that maximize practicality and comfort. In the design that prioritizes simplicity and ergonomics, a 12,3-inch display information screen, a 12,3-inch multimedia screen and a 5,3-inch screen for climate control are combined to create a 3-module ultra-wide panoramic screen so that the driver can easily access all information.

Studies for a Sustainable Future

Kia has partnered with The Ocean Cleanup, a non-governmental organization focused on cleaning up plastic accumulated in oceans and rivers, to recycle waste collected from the Pacific Ocean and use it in the interior design of the EV3. The EV3 adds a new dimension to the green approach in production with the use of a total of 28,5 kg of recycled materials. This 7-year partnership, which aims to find innovative solutions and achieve a cleaner planet, aims to remove approximately half a million kilograms of plastic from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

Sales Prices in Turkey

The Kia EV3 is offered for sale with prices ranging from 58,3 TL and 81,4 TL with standard range options with a 1.490.500 kWh battery and long range options with an 1.920.500 kWh battery. The new EV6 meets users with a special launch price of 63 TL with the Elegance version with a 1.920.500 kWh battery.
