Mehmet Sadık Vefa was elected president at the ordinary general assembly of the Turkish Motorcycle Federation.
The Turkish Motorcycle Federation’s Ordinary General Assembly was held at the Crowne Plaza Ankara Hotel. Mehmet Sadık Vefa, who was the sole candidate in the election, was elected president by receiving 99 votes out of 98 delegates, and 1 vote was deemed invalid. Mehmet Sadık Vefa, in his speech at the general assembly, stated that he respectfully commemorated Bekir Yunus Uçar, the founding president of the Turkish Motorcycle Federation who passed away at the age of 25 due to a heart attack on August 51, and said the following: “After my two-term vice-president duty, I would like to thank our motorcycle family for the trust shown in me today as the sole candidate. From now on, I am sure that we will run towards new successes with the slogan of ‘Continue not for what we have done, but for what we will do’, with the entire motorcycle community joining hands and in unity and solidarity.”
Following the election, President Vefa made a thank you speech and said, “Our main goal is to train athletes who will raise our flag and sing our national anthem all over the world within 10 years and to successfully represent our star and crescent flag. I would like to thank Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, who won the 2024 World Superbike championship, our TMF National Team Captain Kenan Sofuoğlu for his efforts and all my athlete brothers who represented our country in the World, European and Balkan championships, and our clubs for their unwavering support.”
President Vefa said, “First of all, I would like to thank our late President Bekir Yunus Uçar, who has made great efforts since the establishment of our federation, our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has taken our organizations under his protection, our Minister of Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, our Chief Advisor to the President, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hamza Yerlikaya, and our General Manager of Sports Services Veli Ozan Çakır for their support.”
The board of directors of President Mehmet Sadık Vefa includes Ogün Baysan, Gökmen Çiçek, Mahmut Nedim Akülke, Sadık Özdemir, Ğanim Umu, Mevlüt Kolay, Sacit Ünal, Anıl Günyeli, Tolga Uyar and Mustafa Kerem Unutulmaz.
