Mercedes-Benz Türk Develops Electric Transportation Ecosystem

Mercedes-Benz Türk and its parent company Daimler Truck designed the electric transportation ecosystem holistically, offering a wide range of products and services from battery electric and hydrogen-based fuel cell vehicles to the installation of all types of electric transportation infrastructure.

Mercedes-Benz Türk and its parent company Daimler Truck, which have been working for many years in line with the goal of pioneering zero-emission transportation and carbon neutral transformation, continue to shape the future of electric transportation with sustainable technologies. Shaping the electric vehicle transformation around the Connected/Online (Connected), Autonomous and Electric (Electric) strategies, Daimler Truck develops Battery Electric and Hydrogen Based Fuel Cell Vehicles within the framework of this strategy and offers a wide range of zero-emission solutions from urban transportation to long-distance transportation.

Established to provide services in areas other than production for the electric transportation ecosystem, Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH offers its customers a wide range of services, from electric buses with special configurations to software-supported feasibility studies, from charging management systems to the establishment of the electrical infrastructure. Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH offers its customers a comprehensive package, including all kinds of simulations required from the offer stage until the vehicles are put into operation, vehicles with equipment determined according to customer needs, selection and establishment of charging stations suitable for the operation to be carried out, electrical infrastructure, charging and fleet software. Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH continues its work in this context in Turkey together with Mercedes-Benz Türk.

Mercedes-Benz Conecto Hybrid, manufactured at Hoşdere Bus Factory, provides up to 6,5 percent fuel economy compared to the conventional diesel-powered Conecto model. Covering 80 thousand kilometers per year, Mercedes-Benz Conecto Hybrid prevents the release of an average of 5.2 tons of CO2 into the environment annually thanks to the fuel savings it achieves. Thanks to the 'compact hybrid' system where electric and diesel engines work together, the vehicle converts the energy generated during braking and gas-free driving into electrical energy and stores it, and uses it to support the diesel engine during take-off. Conecto Hybrid's R&D studies were also carried out by the Mercedes-Benz Türk Bus R&D team.
