İmambakır Üküş was born in 1981 in Ovacık district of Tunceli. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Ovacık. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Economics in 2004. He has worked in the private sector since 2005. He was elected as CHP Ovacık District Chairman in 2015. In 2018, he was elected as CHP Tunceli Provincial Chairman.
