Corvette Racing Announces 2024 Z06 GT3.R!

Corvette Racing introduced its new racing vehicle, Z06 GT3.R. This vehicle will compete in the GTD Pro category in 2024. Corvette Racing's new racing vehicle has many common features with its road version, the Z06.

Z06 GT3.R Inspired by Road Version Z06

Z06 GT3.R uses the 06-liter V5.5 engine of the road version Z8. This engine produces 670 horsepower and 860 Nm of torque. The Z06 GT3.R also benefits from the Z06's aerodynamic design. Parts such as the front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser and wing appear similarly on both the road and race car.

Z06 GT3.R, same zamIt also uses the Z06's carbon fiber body. In this way, the vehicle has a structure that is both light and robust. Z06 GT3.R is also equipped with suspension, brake, steering and cooling systems specially developed for racing.

Z06 GT3.R Will Compete in the GTD Pro Category

The Z06 GT3.R will compete in the GTD Pro category in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2024. This category is an area where factory-supported GT3 vehicles struggle. Z06 GT3.R will face competitors such as Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi and Mercedes in this category.

The Z06 GT3.R will not make any changes to Corvette Racing's driver lineup. Nicky Catsburg, Antonio Garcia, Tommy Milner and Alexander Sims will continue to race with the new race car. These pilots are names that have played an important role in Corvette Racing's past successes.

The Z06 GT3.R will make its race debut at the 2024 Rolex Daytona. This race is known as IMSA's early season event. Z06 GT3.R will begin the new era of Corvette Racing in this race.

Z06 GT3.R is Important to the Future of Corvette Racing

The Z06 GT3.R is a very important vehicle for the future of Corvette Racing. Corvette Racing has undergone a new restructuring after Pratt Miller Motorsports took over the factory-supported racing program, which ends in 2023. Pratt Miller Motorsports has been Corvette Racing's technical partner for many years.

Pratt Miller Motorsports' Corvette Racing team will continue to receive support from Chevrolet. However, communication between the team and Chevrolet will be less than in previous years. This may affect the connection between the race car and the road version.

Mark Stielow, head of General Motors' Motorsports Engineering wing, said that the Z06 GT3.R is very important for Chevrolet and the racing team.

“The customer-focused racing vehicle allows us to combine the experience we have gained from Corvette Racing's successful past and produce better vehicles.”

As Corvette Racing's new race car, the Z06 GT3.R will demonstrate the power and prestige of Corvette both on race tracks and on the roads.
