How Is Profiterole Made?
To make profiteroles, you must first prepare the cream. To do this, add granulated sugar and milk to the sauce pot and mix. Then add the egg and flour and cook over medium heat until it reaches a thick consistency.
After the cream is cooked, add the vanilla, stir and remove from the stove. Cool it at room temperature and put it in a squeeze bag. Let it rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
For profiterole dough, boil margarine and water in a pot. Add the flour and mix to avoid lumps. When the dough comes together, remove it from the stove and let it rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Add eggs one by one to the dough and mix. After the dough is thoroughly combined with the eggs, let it rest for another 15 minutes.
Tear off small pieces from the dough and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Don't forget to leave space between them.
Bake the dough in a preheated 180 degree oven for 40 minutes. Remove the cooked dough from the oven and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
Make small holes in the bottom of the dough with a knife. Fill these holes with the cream you put in the piping bag.
For the chocolate sauce, heat the cream in a saucepan. Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and add it to the cream. Stir until the chocolate melts.
Stack the creamy dough on top of each other and drizzle the chocolate sauce over them.
