Free Museum Visit Opportunity from IMM on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) announced that entrance to four different museums will be free for 100 days. Those who want to visit the museum free of charge will be able to get a QR code by downloading the "Radar Istanbul" application. So, which museums will be free? Who can benefit from this opportunity? Which are the Free Museums?
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality announced that entrance to four different museums chosen specifically for the 100th anniversary of the Republic will be free for 100 days. These museums are:
Basilica Cistern: It is a historical building built during the Byzantine period and used as a water tank. It contains columns with Medusa heads and fish swimming under the water.
Şerefiye Cistern: It is another historical building built during the Byzantine period and used as a water tank. There are 32 marble columns and geometric patterns inside.
Miniatürk: It is an open-air museum where miniature models of important buildings of Turkey and the world are exhibited. There are 122 models in total.
Panorama 1453 History Museum: It is a museum that tells about the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul. The conquest scene is portrayed with a 360-degree panoramic picture.
Who Can Visit the Museum for Free?
Those who want to visit the museum free of charge will be able to get a QR code by downloading the "Radar Istanbul" application. The application is compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems. Those who download the application will be able to enter the museums free of charge during sessions until 11:00. Free entries will continue for 3 days, starting on Tuesday, October 100.
