Sergio Perez wants to show a good performance in the second half of the 2023 Formula 1 season and finish second in the championship by regularly taking podiums.
Perez had a good start to the season with two victories in the first four races and was second behind Verstappen. However, as the season progressed, Verstappen's gap and Perez's struggle with the development of the car caused the Mexican driver to move away from his championship goal.
Stating that the last two races of the first half of the season were completed well, Perez said, "It is no secret that I had a little more difficulty with the development of the car, some things did not come as naturally to me as before, and because the car changed, I had to change my driving style and adapt to it." said.
Stating that the area where he had the most difficulty was the car's behavior in medium and high speed corners, Perez said. "It did reduce my confidence a bit, especially when the conditions got tough, but that's okay, it's another challenge for me." he said.
Stating that little training prevented him from changing his driving style, Perez said, “It is not really easy because we have very little training. If you go one way or the other, you have to stay there for the rest of the weekend. So it's not an easy situation for a driver." said.
Stating that he will work to show a better performance in the second half, Perez said, "My goal is to regularly take the podiums and fight for the second place in the championship." used the phrases.
