Bezzecchi is one of the key players in the center of the driver market for the 2024 season. Ducati has made no secret of its willingness to sign a new contract with Bezzecchi, but insists the Pramac will be its only chance for a factory bike next year. The VR46 will continue to race older bikes into 2024, but Bezzecchi's first choice seems to be to stay where it is, whatever the bike condition.
At this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix, Valentino Rossi admitted he was ‘pushing’ Bezzecchi to stay with the VR2024 team in 46. Bezzecchi, who finished third at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday, said he ‘appreciated’ the pressure from the ‘greatest of all time’ to keep him at VR46. He also said he had made up his mind for 2024, but would not reveal what it was just yet.
“Honestly Vale is very persistent and I really appreciate that because being challenged by the ‘greatest of all time’ is something that not everyone in the world can experience.”

Shortly after the end of the Austrian GP, Pramac announced that he would part ways with Johann Zarco at the end of the 2023 season. It was rumored that Zarco would switch to Honda with the LCR on a two-year deal, but this has not yet been officially announced by the Japanese manufacturer. However, Zarco told Canal+ on Sunday that he has agreed with Honda.
Depending on what Bezzecchi does, it will be determined where outgoing Yamaha rider and VR46 Academy member Franco Morbidelli will travel in 2024. Morbidelli, who is connected to VR46 instead of Bezzecchi, could find himself in a factory Ducati with Pramac if Bezzecchi stays where he is.
With Bezzecchi set to make his decision for 2024, there is a lot of uncertainty about how the driver market will shape up.
