Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues to host sports organizations in many national and international branches in Kocaeli, the model city of sports. In this context, Metropolitan organized the first leg of the Turkish Motosurf Championship, which is the first of jetsurf, which is becoming increasingly widespread in our country, and consists of 4 legs. As a result of 4 challenging races, Murat Yorgancılar came first, İsmail Kaptanoğlu second, Deniz Özkardeş third.

ATHLETE FAMILIES AND CITIZENS WATCHED

During the contested races, which were hosted by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality for the first time in our country, there were athletes who fell off the jetsurf. On the track, the officials warned the other athletes, opened a yellow flag to prevent any accident, and helped the fallen athletes. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Hasan Aydınlık, Head of Metropolitan Youth and Sports Services Department Şemsettin Yıldırım, Metropolitan Sports Branch Manager Alparslan Arslan, athletes' families and many citizens watched the races on the shore of Sekapark Kite Hill with interest.

“GULF WILL BE THE CENTER OF WATER SPORTS”

Speaking at the trophy ceremony, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Hasan Aydınlık started his speech by conveying the greetings of Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın. Aydınlık said, “We are happy to host a beautiful championship. We are very pleased to host the athletes and their families in Kocaeli, the Capital of Sports. Our President had a dream to make the Bay a center for water sports and to see sailing boats, rowing races, as well as motosurfing and flyboard applications when looking at the Gulf. We are one step closer to this dream and promise every year.” Aydınlık thanked the athletes who came from various cities of Turkey and participated in the championship and gave the good news that a center where water sports come to life was built next year on the opposite shore.

FIGHT ON THE COAST

In the championship hosted by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, the athletes competed fiercely in the waters of the Gulf, where steps were taken to become the center of water sports. 9 athletes competed in the first leg of the championship, which was organized for the first time this year to ensure that the races were at the standards of the world championship, and 9 athletes registered. On the other hand, the 3st leg races of the Turkish Water Jet and Flyboard Championship, covering 4-1 June and the training and qualifying laps were held on Saturday, were held on the track prepared on the shore of Sekapark Kite Hill on the last day. Upon the completion of the races, the referee committee convened and the athletes who ranked in the evaluation were given their cups by the protocol with an award ceremony.
