New Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit™ to Be Used First in New 3008

The next step in change at Peugeot, the new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit™, in an innovative and determined move, first appears in the new 3008.

Bringing creative design, driving pleasure and electric performance to a whole new level, the new Peugeot 3008 will be the first model to hit the road with the new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit™. The next-generation Peugeot i-Cockpit®, which will be used in the next 3008, will feature an impressive 21-inch high-resolution curved panoramic display that seems to float above the dash, a new compact steering wheel and i-Toggles buttons. With a successful history of 10 years, the Peugeot i-Cockpit® has never experienced such a sharp change. This change represents the next level in Peugeot. The passion of the Peugeot teams is reshaping the essentials, offering a unique option on the market with the new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit™.

Raised instrument display and central touchscreen come together

Peugeot teams decided to combine two of the three key elements of the i-Cockpit®, the raised instrument display and the central touchscreen. These two elements are combined in a single 21-inch high-definition curved panel that runs from the left end of the dashboard to the center console in the new design. Connected by an invisible rear support from the passenger compartment, this panoramic screen appears to float above the dashboard. The gliding effect is accentuated by LED ambient lighting at the bottom of the screen. The 21-inch panoramic screen is positioned to provide optimum ergonomics. It also curves slightly towards the driver, providing seamless access for the front passenger. With its superior size and quality, this digital display combines the two main functions of the Peugeot i-Cockpit®:

On the left side of the panoramic screen, the instrument cluster above the compact steering wheel shows all driving-related information such as speed, power, driving aids, energy flow.

Both the driver and passenger can access the touch screen located on the right side of the panoramic screen, in the middle of the dashboard. This screen can be used to control functions such as air conditioning, navigation, media/connection.

Reinterpreted architecture and ergonomics

The new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit® has a new architecture with its panoramic screen mounted on the front console with the fixation system invisible from the passenger compartment. This layout improves touchscreen accessibility and visibility of information on the 21-inch panoramic display. In the middle of the panel is the i-Toggles.

A new compact steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls

Compact steering wheel zamThe moment became a key element of the Peugeot i-Cockpit®. Steering has been extensively overhauled for greater driving feel and comfort. The redesigned central pillow takes up a smaller footprint. Also, the steering wheel is isolated from the arms for a floating effect, similar to the panoramic screen on the dashboard.

The new compact steering wheel controls feature "Tactile click" for greater user ergonomics. They automatically detect the driver's fingers, but activate only when pressed to avoid any mishandling. The new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit® also offers two new, slim and elegant controls behind the compact steering wheel.

A quality, technological cabin

The 21-inch floating panoramic screen isn't the only factor that contributes to the impressive appearance of the new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit™. Ambient lighting running across the dashboard and door panels is eye-catching but still zampresents a technological outlook. This lighting is projected in an elegant original aluminum finish and can be customized in 8 different colours. The fabrics combine with aluminum trim to create a unique, quality material combination.
