Premium automaker Lexus held the world premiere of its all-new LM model. The new LM, which will expand Lexus' product range in Europe, will make a big difference by entering an entirely new segment for the brand. The new LM model will also be available in Turkey from September.
Furthering the features of a high-end luxury limousine as a spacious minivan, the LM is the fourth model to represent Lexus' new era, following the new NX, RX and all-electric RZ SUVs. The letter L in the name of LM, which is short for “Luxury Mover”, emphasizes that the LM is a Lexus flagship model, just like the LS sedan, LC coupe/convertible and LX SUV offered in the eastern European market.
With the new LM model, Lexus has taken the brand's Omotenashi hospitality philosophy to a unique level. Every detail of the LM has been developed in such a way that the occupants feel at home at all times. The pinnacle of luxury, comfort and technology with LM
The new LM, designed entirely with a focus on comfort and luxury, will be offered with a wide range of products according to the lifestyle and needs of different customers. Produced as a luxury passenger transport vehicle from the very beginning, the LM can be preferred in four and seven-seat versions. In the seven-seat model, the VIP seats in the middle row were prioritized in terms of volume and accessibility. In addition, the third row seats can be opened/closed separately when more cargo space is required.
The four-seater model stands out as the pinnacle of luxury, with two multifunctional rear seats. These rear seats are packed with features that make every journey extremely comfortable and enjoyable. These include a large 48-inch screen, as well as a partition between the front and rear cabin, which houses a dimmable glass panel. This screen can be used as a full screen or as separate right/left screens to meet different passenger preferences. Users can project content directly from their smartphones or tablets to the screen. Same zamIt is also possible to connect to the display via two HDMI ports at the same time. The system can also be used for online business meetings. In the seven-seat model, there is also a 14-inch rear multimedia screen that can be operated independently from the front console.
The specially developed Mark Levinson 3D Surround Sound Sound System has 23 speakers in the four-seat model and 21 speakers in the seven-seat model. Cab comfort is further enhanced with a more sophisticated Lexus Climate Concierge feature that uses thermal sensors to precisely control and direct heating and ventilation.
Silence was also a priority in the new LM model and an improved noise isolation was used for this. There are also noise-reducing wheels and tires, as well as Active Noise Control, which reduces low-frequency noises in the cabin.
An elegant design with all its lines
The LM embodies Lexus' new era design and is developed with an elegant theme of elegance. The result is a unique and confident looking, same zamAt the same time, a design that provides easy maneuvers has emerged. The LM measures 5,130mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,945mm in height. Its generous width, height and 3,000mm wheelbase were key points that maximized rear passengers' living space.
The bold front end is joined by the Lexus signature grille. The Spindle grille shape is integrated with the slim openings under the bumper, linking the headlamp design as well. The flowing lines of the LM model are accentuated by darkened front and rear pillars. Large windows increase the feeling of spaciousness. Thanks to the large sliding doors, getting into the vehicle has become much easier.
The driver's cockpit has been designed in accordance with the Omotenashi philosophy, with the same attention to detail as all other new Lexus models. All controls, instruments and information displays are positioned according to the Tazuna concept. In this way, the driver only needs to make very small hand and eye movements and can fully focus on the road. “Tazuna” comes from a Japanese word that describes the same kind of intuitive control a rider has on a horse by gently adjusting the reins.
Powered by Lexus LM hybrid engine
Combining driving comfort and driving pleasure, LM has a 350-liter self-charging hybrid power unit of Lexus with the name LM 2.5h in Europe. The hybrid system, which is also used in the new NX 350h and RX 350h models, draws attention with its high efficiency, quiet driving and refined performance. With a total power of 245 HP, the LM 350h produces 239 Nm of torque.
Equipped with the E-Four electronic all-wheel drive system as standard, the LM 350h automatically balances the torque for better handling and increased rear seat comfort. Torque can be adjusted from front to rear from 100:0 to 20:80 according to driving conditions.
In addition, the LM is equipped with the latest generation Lexus Safety System + active safety and driver assistance systems, which are also featured in the new NX, RX and RZ models. This security suite can detect larger scale accident scenarios. It provides warning, steering, braking and traction support when needed to help avoid or mitigate accidents. This safety system is tuned to give the driver a natural feeling. By constantly monitoring the driver's condition, Driver Monitor can slow down or stop the vehicle in unresponsive situations. The doors, including the rear sliding doors, feature Lexus' elegant e-latch electronic door opening system. Working together with the Safe Exit Assistant, the system detects the traffic behind and prevents accidents when the door is opened.
