DS Automobiles continues to integrate iconic examples from the past of the brand into today's cultural events. The DS Fantomas design by Geoffrey Rossillon stands out as the most up-to-date example of the work done in this area.

Le Musée National de l'Automobile – Collection Schlumpf presents the iconic cars used in the films of Louis de Funès to visitors at the temporary exhibition that will be open between April 5 and November 5, 2023. The exhibition brings together cars, posters, set photos and accessories, including DS models seen in the movies. DS Automobiles joins the celebration with the Louis de Funès Museum with its original drawing, a modern adaptation of the DS featured in the movie “The Return of Phantoma”. DS became one of the biggest stars of the movie, along with Jean Marais, Louis de Funès and Mylène Demongeot, who starred in the second movie of the Fantomas trilogy. The DS featured in the movie attracted attention especially with the final escape scene, choreographed by Rémy Julienne, in which he flew down from the skirts of Mount Vesuvius with his retractable wings and flew.

Thierry Metroz, Design Director of DS Automobiles, said, “DS is an icon that has made history by going beyond the automobile industry. This signature became a part of the French heritage, and accordingly, it gained an important place in French cinema. We responded to the proposal from the Louis de Funès Museum by designing a modern DS dedicated to DS Fantomas. The design was sketched by Geoffrey Rossillon, who was on the exterior design team led by Frédéric Soubirou.”
