Hyundai IONIQ 6 Receives Top Award from Euro NCAP

Hyundai's new all-electric model IONIQ 6, which will start selling in the coming months, has been awarded by the European Vehicle Assessment Agency (Euro NCAP). Awarded as one of the cars with the highest score in 2022 in terms of safety, the IONIQ 6 was selected first in the "Large Family Car" category.

Euro NCAP examined 66 new passenger cars, which started to be sold last year, and conducted compelling crash tests with the new models of the brands. To award the title 'Best in Class', Euro NCAP calculates by averaging the scores in each of the four different categories. In the categories that stand out as 'Adult Occupant Protection', 'Child Occupant Protection', 'Sensitive Road User Protection' and 'Safety Assistants', most equipment must be offered as standard to get the best scores. Optional safety equipment or collision avoidance systems do not qualify.

The IONIQ 6 received five stars in Euro NCAP crash tests conducted in November 2022, proving Hyundai's advanced safety systems claim. In addition, IONIQ 97, which achieved an extraordinary result with a rate of 6 percent in “Adult Occupant Protection”, thus came first in its category. Meanwhile, Euro NCAP gave 87 percent in the "Child Occupant Protection" and 90 percent in the "Safety Assistant" category.

IONIQ 6 will be available in Turkey in the last quarter of the year and will make a difference in electric models.
