Within the scope of the agreement, Karsan will install a total of 15 charging stations, 59 of which are fast charging, in the region. zamAt the same time, it has undertaken the entire maintenance and garage operation of the vehicles for 6 years, clearly demonstrating its claim of turnkey solution in this field. Stating that within the scope of the project, 12 pieces of 18-meter e-ATAs belonging to the Braşov Municipality were delivered in the past months, Karsan CEO Okan Baş noted that the charging station installations have also been completed and the vehicles will start public transportation service in Braşov as of the beginning of 2023.

“E-ATAs will carry the people of Timisoara on New Year's Eve”

Stating that the first vehicles will be delivered at the end of December within the scope of the 2023 e-ATA 44-meter agreement signed with the Timisoara Municipality, which was selected as the Cultural Capital of Europe in 18, Okan Baş said, “The vehicles will start service in Timisoara at the beginning of the year. We have also completed the installation of some of the charging stations within the scope of the agreement. Within the scope of the agreement with Timisoara Municipality, all vehicle deliveries and installation of charging stations were planned to be completed in the last quarter of 2023. However, the Municipality of Timisoara started its modern public transport service earlier than planned. zamHe wanted to present it to his people. We brought our planning forward in line with this demand. We aim to complete the delivery of the remaining vehicles and the installation of the charging station within the first half of the new year.”

“The goal is to be the pioneer of transformation in Europe”

Emphasizing that Karsan is a Turkish brand that plays a leading role in the transformation of electric vehicles in Romania, Karsan CEO Okan Baş continued as follows:

“Romania, like Karsan, is leading the transformation in Europe in electric vehicles. This pioneering vision of Romania fits well with Karsan's electric transformation journey that started 5 years ago. Romania is one of Karsan's main target markets, just like France and Italy. Today, Karsan owns about a third of Romania's electric vehicle park. Moreover, among the manufacturers in Turkey, which has a bus production base, Karsan stands out as the Turkish brand with the most electric parks in Romania. While our electric vehicle park in Romania was 2022 by the end of 140, it will reach 2023 by the middle of 180 with the deliveries to Timisoara Municipality.

“Strong and quality brand image is developing”

Commenting on Karsan's strong growth in the European market, Okan Baş said, “As one of Europe's most important bus manufacturers, Turkey's industrial strength is appreciated by the world. As Karsan, we go beyond being a commercial vehicle manufacturer. We managed to become one of the leading brands of electric mobility with our advanced technology transportation solutions. Karsan, which received the Bus of the Year award at the Sustainable Bus Awards with its 12-meter e-ATA in the field of sustainable transportation in Europe, serves European people on the streets of European countries such as France, Italy and Luxemburg. In addition, Karsan is the market leader in Europe in its own segments with e-JEST and e-ATAK. This is a result of Karsan's strong and solution-oriented brand perception, and we continue to develop this perception.”

e-ATA, named after Ata, which means the elders of the family in Turkish, has different battery capacity options from 18 kWh to 198 kWh in the 595-meter class model and a fast charging option with a pantograph.
