“WE LOVE ROAD STORIES A LOT”
Commenting on the subject at the book's launch invitation, TEMSA CEO Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu stated that TEMSA is a very powerful brand that has touched the lives of Turkish people for 55 years, adding, “TEMSA is not just a bus manufacturer for Turkish people, it is a travel companion. This is exactly the starting point of this project. We all have some road stories etched into our minds. With this project, we wanted to remind people of these road stories and the pleasant memories we had. As Turkish people, we really like road stories and journeys. With each journey, we discover ourselves a little more. With this aspect, 'From the Window of the Bus' is a project that makes us very excited and happy.”
WE WILL STRENGTHEN TEMSA'S RELATIONSHIP WITH ART
Adding that this book is an indicator of TEMSA's perspective on sustainability, modernization and social development, Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu said, “Each of the investments we have made in sports and art so far is actually an awareness project in itself. The better we can use the unifying power of art and the more we can spread it in our country, the further we will go as a country and society. We know this very well. This book project is actually a reflection of our sense of responsibility in society. With such projects, we will continue to strengthen TEMSA's relationship with art.”
ALL INCOME TO THE DREAM PARTNERS ASSOCIATION
Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu, who underlined that all the income in this project will be donated to the Dream Partners Association, which was founded by TEMSA employees, as in the TEMSA Art project, continued: “We implemented our TEMSA ART project with our students from Çukurova University last year. With this project, we delivered a total of 1,5 tons of industrial waste and scrap generated in our production processes to our young artists. And they designed nearly 20 works of art from these materials. We sold some of these by auction at the event we organized, and donated the funds we obtained from there to the Dream Partners Association, which was founded by TEMSA employees, and used it for the renovation of village schools. We demonstrate the same approach in this project. In this way, on the one hand, we will provide a benefit to the society with this book project, and then we will use these revenues for a different purpose of social development.”
Author Sibel Oral, who is the editor of the book titled From the Window of the Bus and also owns one of the 17 stories in the book, said: “The bus has a deep-rooted and important place in our travel culture. Along with these cultural stories, it is also one of the sources of inspiration for our literature. Since I am the editor of such a book with the contributions of TEMSA, I am very happy to work with the authors whose names you see on the cover. Yes, every journey is a story and in this book, all the stories take place on the bus. It is a bus that goes not only between cities but also between stories. And we looked at the world from the window of that bus with this book. The comments from the readers shortly after the book came out showed that we were not alone looking through that window. It showed how important the bus journey is for many people, even from different generations, how we all have an emphasis on travel stories, and how we accompany someone else's journey with the power of literature. Readers also traveled with our writers to their stories and their own. I would like to thank TEMSA for this cooperation, the authors who participated in the book and our readers who participated in this journey.”
