While the sales of electric vehicles are increasing day by day, it is predicted that the lack of sufficient charging stations may disrupt sales. Aiming to play a key role in the green transformation of the transportation and energy sectors, Geta Charge offers electric vehicle owners access to solar or wind energy with its charging stations in public or private areas. The company aims to install 2023 stations by the end of 200 and 2030 by 1,500.

Millions of vehicles on the road every day harm the environment and human health. Toxic pollutants such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide released from the exhausts of motor vehicles react with other chemicals in the atmosphere, negatively affecting nature and triggering the climate crisis. Cars cause 90% of air pollution in fast-growing cities around the world, and a typical passenger car emits about 4,6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, according to research from the American Environmental Protection Agency EPA. Environmentally conscious citizens who want to prevent this situation are contributing to the construction of a sustainable life by switching to electric vehicles. According to the Electric Vehicle Sales Review prepared by PwC on a global scale with its Strategy, electric vehicle sales increased by 81% globally in the first half of the year, while in Turkey it showed an increase of 154% compared to the previous year. While the market share of these vehicles in our country reached 8%, the eyes were turned to the year-end figures.

Geta Charge Founding Partner and General Manager, Mehmet Kocaoğlu, stated that they plan to facilitate the journey of electric vehicle owners in our country and to expand the use of electric vehicles, with the fast chargers they have installed for electric vehicles, and made the following statement on the subject: “In order to prevent the ever-deepening climate crisis, clean energy sources are of critical importance. But we are just at the beginning of the era of change and transformation in energy. At this point, electric vehicles emerge as one of the most important parts of the transformation. With our vision of being a part and accelerator of this transformation, we obtained our charging network operating license. Our mission is to eliminate the range concerns of electric vehicle users and to facilitate access to charging stations both in their daily lives and on their journeys. We are looking for new ways to reduce our negative impact on the environment and continue to work with our business partners to ensure that our operations are sustainable.”

The energy of the chargers is obtained from 100% renewable sources.

Mehmet Kocaoğlu stated that, according to the data disclosed to the public by the Electric Transportation Platform, the demand for electric vehicles in European countries is expected to exceed the internal combustion engine passenger vehicles by 2025, and that the automotive markets will consist entirely of electric vehicles by 2035. two-thirds own or plan to buy electric vehicles. In the face of this high demand, if charging points cannot be activated quickly, the transition to the electric transportation model may be interrupted. Therefore, increasing charging possibilities is critical for the electric vehicle market. As Geta Charge, we not only meet the daily energy needs of electric vehicle owners in Turkey with the fast charging facility we offer at public points, but also accelerate the transformation by making charging stations easily accessible to everyone. All of the energy in our chargers is obtained from solar power plants, that is, from 100% renewable energy sources.”

Will install 2023 DC stations by the end of 200

Underlining that apart from charging stations in public areas, users also install at homes and workplaces, Geta Charge Founding Partner and General Manager Mehmet Kocaoğlu said, “In addition to all our services, we routinely maintain our charging stations. We provide end-to-end project design, exploration, charging station supply and installation, certification and software services for charging station installation and operation. We aim to play a key role in the green and sustainable transformation of the transportation and energy sectors. In this context, we will establish 2023 DC stations that provide fast charging until the end of 200, and 2030 until 500. We are happy to be a part of this transformation by using renewable energy sources.”
