The Mercedes-Benz Republic Rally, organized by the Classic Automobile Club under the main sponsorship of Mercedes Benz, in Istanbul and witnessed a great excitement, was completed with a magnificent Republic Ball.
The event, which is traditionally organized every year by the Classic Car Club under the main sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz, and which brings classic car enthusiasts together, attracted a great deal of participation throughout the year. The race, which was the scene of glorious moments; A total of 1952 classic cars participated, with the oldest being the 220 model Mercedes-Benz 1989 and the youngest being the 300 model Mercedes-Benz 90 SL.
On the first day of the organization, classic cars raced on a track starting from Çırağan Palace on the Bosphorus and ending at Silivri Şölen Chocolate Factory. On the second day, the rally started from Sait Halim Paşa Mansion and ended at Benesta Acıbadem.
Making a statement after the race, Mercedes-Benz Automotive Executive Board and Automobile Group President Şükrü Bekdikhan said, “In the rally series organized by the Classic Car Club, which we have been proudly sponsored since 2014, the Mercedes-Benz Republic Rally was very enjoyable this year as well. We are proud to contribute to the gathering of people who are interested in classic cars and want to exchange ideas in this direction. This year, we were very happy to come together as a family with our automobile-loving friends. Once again, my heartfelt congratulations to everyone who participated and competed. We look forward to meeting at the rally next year, which we will celebrate with enthusiasm once again on the 100th anniversary of the Republic.”
On the last day of the rally, an award ceremony and a magnificent “Republican Ball” were held. The winners in different categories received plaques and gifts at the award ceremony held at the Sait Halim Paşa Mansion. The first, second and third places in the category became the winners of the Mercedes-Benz awards, while the driver and co-pilot who made the best time in the rally was awarded the Mercedes-Benz special award. The “She's Mercedes” platform, which aims to inspire female participants throughout the event, presented various gifts throughout the rally, while the female competitor with the best score received the She's Mercedes special award.
