Karsan, Turkey's brand that offers high-tech mobility solutions, signed a domestic and national cooperation with ASELSAN for modern and environmentally friendly transportation. Within the scope of the cooperation, Karsan will produce the e-JEST model equipped with the ASELSAN traction system. The battery system for a fully independent supply chain ecosystem will also be produced by ASPİLSAN Energy, which meets the battery, battery and battery needs of our country nationally.

Offering advanced technology mobility solutions with the vision of being 'One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility' and becoming the leader brand of the electric minibus market in Europe for two consecutive years with its e-JEST model, Karsan is raising its targets with its new collaboration. The brand's first electric model, e-JEST, which was launched in 2018 and brought to the road at the beginning of 2019, is getting ready to hit the road with domestic and national batteries as part of the cooperation with ASELSAN. Within the scope of the agreement, Karsan will manufacture the new e-JEST model equipped with the ASELSAN traction system. As the domestic and national electric traction system, there will be a battery with a capacity of 65 kWh, an electric motor with a power of 70 kW, a motor driver, a vehicle control computer, a driver display panel and a charge control unit. The battery system for a fully independent supply chain ecosystem will also be produced by ASPİLSAN Energy, which meets the battery, battery and battery needs of our country nationally. The e-JEST version, which includes a sliding glass that can be opened, will again come to the fore with the comfort it provides. Karsan e-JESTs, which will have a total of 12 seats, two of which are folding, will be charged in approximately one hour with the ASELSAN fast charging infrastructure.

ASELSAN Chairman of the Board and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün made the following assessment for the domestic and national electric vehicles to be produced: “The technologies developed by ASELSAN engineers with national means turn into competent products in every field our country deems necessary. As a company that has proven itself in the military field, we have transferred our knowledge and experience in subjects such as command-control, power electronics, engine control and mission computer systems to the electric vehicle sector. We are working to create an ecosystem in this regard in our country by expanding domestic and national electric vehicle systems. We thank our Ministry of Industry and Technology for encouraging us with Industrial Cooperation Projects (SIP) for this.”

Emphasizing that the agreement they made with ASELSAN is extremely important, KARSAN CEO Okan Baş said, “As KARSAN, we lead the technologies of the future with all our projects and collaborations, and shape our solutions in the field of public transportation with this perspective. We represent our country by serving with our 100 percent electric vehicles in different countries of Europe. Now, we are producing the new version of our KARSAN e-JEST model, which has been the leader of the electric minibus market in Europe for two consecutive years, equipped with ASELSAN traction system. We are extremely proud to have signed such an exemplary work in terms of modern transportation transformation in Turkey. This is our step; I believe it will set a precedent for similar collaborations.”
