Automotive Industry Association (OSD) announced the production and export numbers and market data for the January-October period. According to the data announced by OSD, total production in 2022 increased by 5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1 million 76 thousand 865 units. Automobile production, which decreased by only 10 percent compared to the first 0.3 months of last year, amounted to 633 thousand 369 units.
Together with the tractor production, the total production reached 1 million 116 thousand 583 units. In the group of commercial vehicles carrying cargo and passengers, production increased by 2022 percent in the January-October period of 13 compared to the same period of the previous year. On a product group basis, it increased by 31 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group and 11 percent in the light commercial vehicle group.
Compared to the January-October period of 2021, the commercial vehicle market increased by 3 percent and the heavy commercial vehicle market by 21 percent, while the light commercial vehicle market contracted by 0.4 percent. Compared to the same period of the previous year, total automotive exports increased by 3 percent in the January-October period, while automobile exports decreased by 2 percent. In this period, total exports amounted to 779 thousand 317 units, while automobile exports amounted to 447 thousand 374 units.
In the January-October period, the total market decreased by 4 percent compared to the previous year and amounted to 618 thousand 723 units. In this period, the automobile market contracted by 6 percent to 466 thousand 664 units. Accordingly, in the first 10 months of the year, total automotive production increased by 5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1 million 76 thousand 865 units.
Automobile production, on the other hand, decreased by 0.3 percent to 633 thousand 369 units. Together with the tractor production, the total production amounted to 1 million 116 thousand 583 units. In the January-October period, commercial vehicle production increased by 13 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In this period, while the production in the heavy commercial vehicle group increased by 31 percent, the production in the light commercial vehicle group increased by 11 percent. During this period, the capacity utilization rate of the automotive industry was 67 percent.
On the basis of vehicle group, capacity utilization rates were 66 percent in light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 88 percent in the truck group, 37 percent in the bus-midibus group, and 64 percent in the tractor.

In the January-October period, automotive exports increased by 3 percent on unit basis compared to the same period of the previous year, and amounted to 779 thousand 317 units. In this period, automobile exports decreased by 2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 10 percent.
Tractor exports, on the other hand, increased by 2021 percent compared to 12 and amounted to 15 thousand 172 units. According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the total automotive industry exports, which ranked first with a share of 12,3 percent in October, ranked second in the sectoral export ranking with a share of 2022 percent in the January-October period of 12. According to Uludağ Exporters' Association (UIB) data, total automotive exports in the January-October period increased by 2021 percent compared to 4 and reached 25.4 billion dollars.
In euro terms, it increased by 18 percent to 24 billion euros. In this period, exports of the main industry increased by 2 percent in dollar terms, and exports of the supply industry increased by 9 percent.

In this period, the share of domestic vehicles in automobile sales was 38 percent, and the share of domestic vehicles in the light commercial vehicle market was 60 percent.
