Operating at the Mercedes-Benz Türk Istanbul R&D Center within the body of Mercedes-Benz Türk Hoşdere Bus Factory, the Test Department continues to carry out road tests of Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses. In tests conducted all over Turkey, the durability of a newly produced bus in real road, climate and usage conditions before mass production is determined, while the function and durability of all systems and components of the vehicle are checked.

Mercedes-Benz Tourrider and Setra S 517 HD model vehicles, which will serve in different regions of the world, are tested in different geographical and climatic conditions of Turkey in order to show the best performance. In this context, the performances of Mercedes-Benz Tourrider and Setra S 3 HD model buses at temperatures above 517 degrees were tested in the tests carried out for 40 months in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. During this period, the buses, which took more than 300 driving tests, covered a total of 164.000 kilometers.

The Mercedes-Benz Tourrider, specially developed for the North American market, was tested with its new engine. Tested for the first time in real conditions on a bus at Daimler Truck, the engine showed a high performance in line with the quality of a bus with a Mercedes-Benz star.

Summer term tests of the new Setra S 517 HD were also carried out.

The Test Division team also carried out the summer term tests of the New Setra S 517 HD vehicle, which had its world premiere at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Fair. In the summer tests where the buses traveled over 640.000 kilometers; It was used on various road types such as highway, city and side roads, on the hardest ramps and in heavy traffic.

Every vehicle, which is pushed to its limits with different test scenarios, is real-worldly by using special measurement systems through the numerous sensors on it. zamInstant information is collected and evaluated. In addition, the vehicle is checked against possible problems with physical controls and various measurements made on all subsystems at predetermined periods. Thus, it is possible to determine and implement the necessary development and improvement scopes for the vehicle while it is still in the testing phase.
