Thanks to its record-breaking turning circle and compact dimensions, Midibus offers an ideal solution especially for city centers with narrow streets and dense pedestrian areas. Midibus completes MAN's electric bus series, which currently consists of 10.5 meters, 12.2 meters and 18.1 meters vehicles.
The sales figures of the MAN Lion's City E also clearly reveal how popular the vehicle is. More than 1.000 orders have already been placed since sales of the all-electric bus began.
As part of the 'Bus Euro Test', the MAN Lion's City E made an impressive trip to Ireland, touring Europe, proving how powerful an all-electric city bus can be. During the 'Electrifying Europe Tour', the twelve-metre city bus crossed eight countries in ten days. The vehicle covered a total distance of 2.448,8 kilometers and consumed a total of 1.763,7 kWh of energy. This corresponds to approximately 0,72 kWh per kilometer. These top values were achieved thanks to Lion's City E's efficient technology and an impressive 20,8 percent recovery rate. Six lithium-ion battery packs (with a capacity of 480 kWh) located on the roof of the eBus provided energy for travel in cities, rural areas and mountains. With regard to the propulsion system, MAN relies on a central engine on the rear axle for the eBus, or on two central engines on the second and third axles that assist in driving and recovery in the articulated bus.
