Turkey Opel Main Market
Turkey, Opel's 3rd Main Market

Florian Huettl, the new CEO of Opel, made his first visit to Turkey after taking office. Making important statements within the scope of his visit, Huettl said, “I see Turkey as one of our main markets, along with Germany and the United Kingdom. Undoubtedly, Turkey's share in the growth trend and successful graphic we have achieved on a global scale is very large. By increasing its sales volume in the first half of the year, Turkey achieved its goal of ranking 5th among Opel countries. However, it would be correct to open the aforementioned 'main market' discourse not only for sales figures, but also as a country whose dynamics we consult and take into account when making our decisions. Turkey is our 3rd main market,” he said.

Opel, one of the world's leading automobile manufacturers, continues its success in the field of mobility by raising its targets. Turkey's share in the success achieved on a global scale is quite large. Opel Turkey rose to the 5th place in Opel markets and took an important step in line with the motto of "Top 5 in every field". Florian Huettl, Opel's new CEO, who took office on June 1, 2022, made his first market visit to Turkey shortly after taking office and made important statements about Turkey.

“Turkey is at the table where we take our decisions!”

Emphasizing that this success is not limited to numbers only, but that Turkey has a much more important role in the global Opel world, Opel CEO Florian Huettl said, “Turkey is one of our 3 main markets, along with Germany and the United Kingdom. Therefore, it would be correct to open my aforementioned 'main market' discourse not only for sales figures, but also as a country that we consult and consider when making our decisions,'' he added.

“Our market share and sales volume is growing rapidly in Turkey”

Emphasizing that Opel Turkey's sales figures and growth trend are accelerating, Florian Huettl said, “Despite the pandemic and the chip crisis, our sales volume in the Turkish market increased by 15% and reached 17 thousand units. When we look at the January – June 2022 period; In this process, we increased our passenger market share to 5,2%; we increased our total market share to 4,7%. Frankly, I wish this growth to be sustainable and I think customer satisfaction is as important as exciting products to ensure this. I can say that we have achieved a good momentum with 98.5% customer satisfaction in this field,'' he said.

“We will be an all-electric brand in Europe by 2028”

Making important statements about electric vehicles, Huettl said, “Today, you look at the electric transformation. zamI can say very clearly at the moment; The Opel brand will play a very important role as one of the pioneers of this transformation. We have already taken very serious steps in electrification. Currently, we are taking a leading role with our 12% electric commercial vehicle models, as well as our 100 different electric models. All Opel models will have an electrified version in 2024, and for 2028 our target is to have Opel in Europe in a position to go on sale with all-electric models. Turkey is one of the countries we prioritize in this development. Our electric models will also take their place in the Turkish market within the framework of these goals.”
