The new 308, which has set the standards in its class since the day it was introduced, zamIt has a special importance as the model in which PEUGEOT's new logo is also exhibited for the first time. The logo on the front grille of the new PEUGEOT 308 reveals the collaboration between the most advanced technologies and brand designers. The new logo not only reinforces the design of the latest PEUGEOT model; same zamIt also hides the radar, which at the same time transmits information to the driving aids. The PEUGEOT logo features a thin layer of indium, a rare superconducting metal that does not interfere with radar waves, and offers high resistance to corrosion, apart from the chrome-plated appearance.

As the first vehicle in the PEUGEOT product line to use the new lion-headed logo launched last year, the new PEUGEOT 308 has already managed to book a place for itself in the French brand's long history encyclopedia full of achievements. The new generation logo is in harmony with the unique design of the new 308, with its grill design and pattern accentuated by different chrome elements and oriented towards the center. The grille and logo combination reinforces the 308's character while supporting the brand's leapfrog strategy, defining the new brand face. While the license plate was moved to the lower part of the front bumper to make the grille design stand out in all its glory, the radar of the driving support systems was hidden behind the logo in order not to disturb the aesthetics of the grille.

Radar Technology Behind Peugeot's New Logo

Logo design of the new 308

The new PEUGEOT logo on the new 308; It is offered in two versions, identical in appearance but technically different, one in the Active version and the other in the Allure and GT versions equipped with innovative driver assistance radar.

In order for the driving assistance systems to work flawlessly, the waves emitted by the radar must not be disturbed. For this reason, the design of the logo on the front of the radar was redesigned by PEUGEOT engineers, taking into account two criteria. In order for the radar, which provides information flow to the driving support systems, to work flawlessly, PEUGEOT engineers kept the surface thickness of the new logo constant, while paying attention that the components that make up the logo do not contain any metal particles.

The production process is a first for the PEUGEOT brand

PEUGEOT's new logo is being produced in several stages; First, a smooth front panel of constant thickness is produced by injection of polycarbonate. An indium backplane is then produced. Since this rare alloy is the only material that meets technical and visual needs, it is specially used in the logo of the versions with radar. It has a sensitive production technique, a natural chrome appearance and features that do not block radar waves. To reveal the lion of the new PEUGEOT logo by laser engraving, the indium surface is laser engraved to reveal a lion on the polycarbonate surface. Black paint is applied to the back of the logo and forms the background of the logo. In order to protect it from external factors (impacts, sun, temperature changes…), after applying a protective varnish to the front surface of the logo, it is attached to a technical connection piece and attached to the grille and fixed. This production process is also a first for the PEUGEOT brand.

Superior technologies hidden behind the new logo

The new logo not only reinforces the design of the latest PEUGEOT model, but also zamIt also hides the radar, which at the same time transmits information to the driving aids. The radar is protected by the new PEUGEOT logo, while providing access to next-generation driving assistance systems. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, offered with the EAT8 automatic transmission, adjusts the distance between vehicles thanks to this radar. The Adaptive Cruise Control System with 30 km/h function offered with the manual transmission also adjusts the distance between the vehicles. Depending on the version, automatic emergency braking, which detects pedestrians and cyclists day and night, and warns the driver in case of a collision, is also available thanks to the radar.
