More comfort and sportiness with the new adjustable suspension with two valves
The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension system, whose stiffness can be selected, is also based on the multi-chamber air suspension. Electronically controlled adjustable shock absorbers complete the suspension system. For the first time, two pressure relief valves are used in this all-new suspension system. Thanks to the infinitely variable control valves mounted on the outside of the shock absorber, the damping force can be adapted even more precisely to different driving conditions and driving programs. A valve controls the backpressure phase, the force that occurs when the wheel kicks back. The other valve controls the compression at the moment of damping, which occurs as the wheel goes inward. The compression and damping levels are regulated independently of each other. While this technology increases comfort, it makes it possible to make driving dynamics even more sporty. Thus, passengers are almost completely protected from uneven ground, while at the same time zambody remains stable.
Using the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs, the driver can select the desired level with the help of a single button, from the fully dynamic "Sport+" mode to the "Comfort" mode for pleasant and calm driving. It can also be adjusted independently of the driving programs with the AMG steering wheel control buttons. In addition, customers are offered a choice of more AMG wheels, and the six-cylinder versions are also offered with red brake calipers.
More interior equipment options
The interior update also focuses on more customization. The new colors emphasize either the sporty or the luxurious side of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé. For example, the two-tone pearl silver / black nappa leather combination or the MANUFAKTUR truffle brown / black Exclusive nappa leather combination. New AMG Performance steering wheel in double-spoke design
The AMG Performance steering wheel, which has been redesigned with its 3-spoke double-groove design and perfectly integrated control keys, makes a difference in the cabin. The steering wheel, which has a flat bottom edge and is covered with nappa leather or nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre fabric, is also equipped with a heating feature.
There is also a sensor area that monitors whether your hands are on the wheel. A warning sequence is triggered when the driver does not keep their hands on the steering wheel for a certain period of time, and the Emergency Stop Function is activated if the driver continues to remain stationary.
The keys integrated into the horizontally positioned double lever offer a unique visual feast. Touch sensing aids on symbols make it easy to use. The instrument panel is controlled by the upper left touch buttons of the steering wheel, and the media display is controlled by the right sensor surface. Cruise control/DISTRONIC can be controlled with the lower left touch buttons of the steering wheel, and phone/hands-free/volume can be controlled with the right touch buttons.
The standard AMG steering wheel buttons have been given a brighter look with new icons and have a rounded appearance. As before, the driver can control key driving functions and driving programs without taking their hands off the steering wheel. The gears of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission can be changed manually with the aluminum shift paddles located behind the steering wheel. The ear flaps have been enlarged and positioned lower for a more ergonomic use.
