OGS Makes History in Bridge and Highway Crossings! Last Day Tomorrow

The General Directorate of Highways of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure pointed out that the OGS period for highways and bridges ended on March 31 and warned the citizens that there is 1 day left to complete the HGS transition procedures.

In a written statement made by the General Directorate of Highways of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was reminded that there are two separate toll collection systems in Turkey: Automatic Pass (OGS) and Fast Pass System (HGS). Zaman zamEmphasizing that this situation caused confusion in the box office, it was stated in the statement that the OGS system will be abolished as of March 31 in order to reduce the workload and increase efficiency, in order to provide better service to the citizens.

TRANSITION RATE FROM OGS to HGS EXCEEDED 70 PERCENT

Pointing out that it is the last day of the transition to HGS, it was underlined that the owners of vehicles with the OGS label will be given the HGS label free of charge by the relevant banks and their accounts will be converted to HGS. In the statement, which was announced that the transfer rate from OGS to HGS exceeded 1 percent, it was noted that citizens showed interest in HGS and that there were sufficient HGS labels in banks.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO GET HGS LABEL FREE

In the statement, which noted that during and after the conversion process, users can easily cross the highway and there will be no disruption, the steps that OGS users should follow to get the HGS label free of charge are listed as follows:

“An application will be made to the bank where the OGS device was purchased before 31 March. An HGS account must be opened to replace the canceled OGS. Fees of all transits will be collected from the HGS account. The toll fee, which was made before the cancellation of the OGS device and has not yet been collected, will be collected from the balance in the OGS account to be closed. If there is still money in the OGS account after the transaction, it will be returned to the bank account or credit card of the person concerned.

In the event that the fees for the transitions made with OGS are not covered, the amounts taken under the assurance will be returned to the bank account or credit cards. Refunds will be made to customers' bank accounts or credit cards within 30 days from the date of cancellation of the device. Those who replace the OGS device with the HGS label will not need to take any action. All OGS devices that were closed until March 31 will be canceled after this date.”
