The iconic American brand Jeep, owned by Stellent, has revealed the first images of its upcoming electric SUV. The company isn't sharing any other details or even the vehicle's name, but has confirmed that the new home will launch in 2023.
Jeep has been slower to embrace electrification than many of its rivals. The automaker has introduced plug-in hybrid versions of its Wrangler and Grand Cherokee SUVs and is planning an off-road version of the Grand Cherokee, the Trailhawk, which also comes with a hybrid powertrain.
But the eponymous SUV, due next year, will be Jeep's first fully battery-electric vehicle. The automaker recently announced that it will launch "zero emission" versions and plug-hybrid variants of all its vehicles by 2025.
