10 Police Resigned in the Last 3 Years

CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Çağrır stated that the number of suicides of police officers has increased recently and brought the issue to the agenda of the Parliament. The Minister of Interior Süleyman Aristocrat replied to the question "How many of our police officers committed suicide in the last ten years and how many police officers resigned voluntarily".

In the last ten years, approximately 3 police officers resigned and left the police force, according to the information shared by Minister of Interior Soylu.

1 POLICE OFFICER REsigns EVERY DAY

CHP's Başarir, in his written parliamentary question, warned about the increasing number of police suicides in the last period, and also asked the questions "How many police officers committed suicide in the last 10 years and how many police officers were mobbed". However, Minister Aristocrat left unanswered these questions of CHP's Basarir.

Basarir, regarding the written reply given by Asilzade, said, “The resignation of 10 of our police officers in the last 3 years is a clear indication that the police officers are working under very violent conditions. This number almost means a police officer resigns every day. The fact that the government does not fulfill its promises to police officers, teachers and health workers also has an important place in these resignations. Especially the recent police suicide cases are reflected in the press and media organs. Alas, the research proposal we submitted to investigate the developing police suicides was rejected by the votes of AKP and MHP deputies. It is incomprehensible to prevent such a situation from being investigated or to hide information about how many police officers committed suicide. We want the problems to be solved, but the current political power has come to an ideal that produces problems instead of solving problems," he said.

WE ASK ON BEHALF OF OUR PEOPLE

CHP's Başarir reacted to the lack of answers to the questions of how many police officers committed suicide and how many were mobbing, and said, “One of the rare polling mechanisms we have is written questionnaires. As MPs, we ask these questions on behalf of folk music, on behalf of the people. However, while many of our written questions are left unanswered, the relevant ministers give irrelevant answers to many of them. Although our questions are very clear, the relevant ministers avoid answering our motions.
