The first electric level 4 driverless bus, produced by Turkish engineers, will be tested in the public transport system in Stavanger, Norway.
The test of the 8-meter-long vehicle, produced by the Turkish company Karsan, has started at Forus Business Park in Stavanger.
The vehicle, which has a capacity of over 21 people, including 50 seats, will be tested for 2 years in the public transport system in Stavanger city center after April.
The tests will also benefit from autonomous vehicle control technology developed by Norway-based start-up company Applied Autonomy.
Thus, for the first time in Europe, the bus with level 4 autonomous features will be integrated into the public transportation system and used in city traffic. With the test project, the contribution of autonomous bus use to urban mobility will be determined.
On the other hand, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank shared on his Twitter account about the vehicle in question.
