All-electric bZ4X SUV shown in Europe

At the Kenshiki Forum 2021, Toyota also made the European launch for the all-new bZ4X, its first vehicle designed from the ground up to be battery-electric. High performance and high efficiency with bZ4X

Thanks to Toyota's 25 years of battery technology experience in electric vehicles, the bZ4X model manages to stand out in terms of performance and efficiency. The bZ4X was the first Toyota to be built on the e-TNGA platform, which was made specifically for battery electric vehicles. Performance guaranteed battery from Toyota

However, the driving range of the bZ4X can be maximized with the optional solar panel. These panels charge the vehicle's battery by generating electricity from solar energy with zero emissions and zero cost. Toyota estimates that solar panels can store energy to provide an annual driving range of 1800 km. Solar panels can store energy while driving or parked.

The electric bZ4X is equipped with the new generation Toyota T-Mate system with active safety and driver assistants, without compromising on safety. With new and improved features, it can prevent accidents by reducing many risks. The detection range of the millimeter wave radar and camera used in the vehicle has been expanded, increasing the performance of each function. Toyota to offer more options in the SUV segment with Corolla Cross

Launched in Europe at the Kenshiki Forum 2021, the all-new Toyota Corolla Cross combines the spaciousness and practicality of a C-segment SUV with the powerful design of the world's best-selling model. While the new model expands the Corolla's product line consisting of sedans, hatchbacks and Touring Sports, the same zamIt will now complete Toyota's SUV range. Thus, customers in Europe will be offered the widest variety of products. The Corolla Cross is scheduled to hit the roads in Europe in 2022.

Built on Toyota's TNGA architecture, the Corolla Cross uses the latest GA-C platform. Thus, the style, layout, technology and driving dynamics of the vehicle have also been made more assertive.

The powerful style of the new Toyota SUV has been specially adapted for the European market. The dynamic design of the headlights and taillight group, wide front grilles are brought together. It will be positioned between the C-HR and RAV4 in the C-SUV segment, where competition is very high in Europe. 5th generation hybrid system in Corolla Cross

The Corolla Cross is the first Toyota model to use the fifth-generation hybrid system globally. Toyota's self-charging 5th generation full hybrid system can be preferred as front-wheel drive or smart all-wheel drive AWD-i. It provides more torque, more electric power, higher efficiency and higher driving satisfaction than previous generation systems. Thanks to the improvements made in lithium-ion batteries, the new battery pack has been made more powerful and 40 percent lighter. The power of the electric and gasoline engine has been improved, thus increasing the overall power output by 8 percent.

The engine options of the Corolla Cross will be 122 PS 1.8-liter hybrid and 197 PS 2.0-liter hybrid. Toyota's extraordinary sports car: GR86

Designed with the philosophy of "analog car for the digital age", the GR86 focuses entirely on pure driving pleasure. The vehicle, which is the new entry point of Toyota's GR product range, aims to reach wider audiences with sports-oriented handling and performance. The high-revving four-cylinder boxer engine, which emphasizes driving fun, continues, and its volume is increased for more power and torque. With the technical updates made in the engine and transmission, smooth and powerful acceleration is achieved throughout the entire rev band.

The displacement of the new lightweight four-cylinder engine in the GR 86 has been increased to 2,387 cc, thus increasing its performance compared to its predecessor. With the same high compression ratio of 12.5:1, the engine produces much more power. Maximum power increased by 17 percent to 7000 PS at 243 rpm. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h decreased to 6 seconds (6.3 seconds in automatic) with 6.9-speed manual transmission, while maximum speed was 226 km/h (6 km/h in 216-speed automatic transmission). However, the torque value has also increased with performance updates. While the peak torque value is increased to 250 Nm, this torque can be reached much earlier at 3700 rpm. In this way, acceleration is much smoother, while a more rewarding performance is offered, especially at cornering exits.

Evolving the design of the GT86, the GR 86 continues to be inspired by the 2000GT and AE86 Corolla. The GR 86, which is close to the GT86 in general dimensions, has a 10 mm lower (1,310 mm) and 5 mm longer wheelbase (2,575 mm). According to GT86, the new vehicle, whose body stiffness has been increased by around 50 percent, will have sharper handling and better steering ability.

The GR 86 is aimed to have the best handling and balance in its class, together with functional aerodynamic parts such as front air ducts and side panels in the vehicle developed by benefiting from TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's motorsports experience.

Yaris joins GR SPORT family in Europe

Toyota also introduced the new Toyota Yaris GR SPORT at the Kenshiki Forum 2021. This new version joins the Yaris family, which won the 2021 Car of the Year award in Europe.

The new Toyota Yaris GR SPORT is inspired by the GR Yaris, another high-performance and highly acclaimed award-winning model. The Yaris GR SPORT will be available in bi-colour, with a more striking Dynamic Gray color and a bi-tone version with black details. The Yaris GR SPORT will be available in Europe from the second quarter of 2022.

The vehicle, offered with new 18-inch wheels with red lines, also underlines the GAZOO Racing connection. The grille, however, has a completely new mesh design with striking letter "G" motifs. The T-shaped diffuser also gives the Yaris GR SPORT a more confident look.

The GAZOO Racing theme continues inside the steering wheel, headrests, start button and instrument display. While there are red stitching on the vehicle-specific seat upholstery, the new Ultrasuede seats are heated as an option. Red stitching also carries over to the steering wheel and gear lever.

Yaris GR SPORT can be preferred with a 1.5-liter hybrid or 1.5-liter Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) gasoline engine. This new transmission automatically increases engine speed during downshifts for smoother gear changes. The iMT system is the same zamIt also works in upshifting, providing a smooth ride. It also contributes to a smooth ride from the very beginning by reducing the risk of the vehicle 'stopping' on the first take off.

On the Yaris GR SPORT, the front and rear suspensions have been updated for higher performance. Offering better steering response and driving comfort at lower speeds, Yaris GR SPORT offers a more fun ride. With the additional supports under the body, the body rigidity, road holding and balance of the vehicle have been improved.

Hydrogen powers the GR Yaris

Toyota has done an extraordinary work with the GR Yaris, which has won many different awards. The hydrogen fuel, fuel tank and filling process of the GR Yaris, which was built for trial purposes, is the same as the fuel cell vehicle Mirai sold by Toyota.
However, while Mirai uses the chemical reaction in fuel cells to generate energy, the specially developed GR Yaris has an internal combustion engine that uses hydrogen as fuel.

Although hydrogen internal combustion engine technology is in its early stages, which began work in 2017 and is still in development for commercial release, Toyota is starting to engage in motorsport challenges with the hydrogen-powered Corolla Sport in Japan.
Using the races to develop new technologies, Toyota uses the same in-line three-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine in the hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine GR Yaris and Corolla Sport. The fuel supply and injection systems of vehicles using hydrogen as fuel were modified accordingly.

The hydrogen burns faster than gasoline, resulting in an engine that is more responsive in terms of driving fun as well as great environmental performance. In addition to being extremely clean, it also ensures that the acoustic and sensory entertainment that characterizes combustion engines is part of the driving experience.

Toyota starts European production of 2nd generation fuel cell module

Toyota continues to develop different electrification technologies in line with its carbon neutral society goals. One of the key points in CO2 reduction is hydrogen technology. Toyota's hydrogen goal, on the other hand, is to go beyond passenger cars and enable it to be used in much more areas.

In order to support the use of hydrogen technology in many sectors from automobiles to different fields, the fuel cell system of Toyota Mirai was rearranged and turned into a compact fuel cell module. From January 2022, Toyota will begin production of 2nd Generation modules based on more advanced 2nd generation fuel cell systems. The new system is more compact and lighter, with greater power density. The modules, which will be offered as flat and cubes, also make it much easier to adapt to different applications.

Production of the second generation fuel cell modules will also take place at Toyota's R&D facility in Brussels. Detecting an increase in demand in this area in Europe, Toyota realized the same production here. zamIt will also provide engineering support to customers who want it to adapt hydrogen technology at the same time.
