Tesla has decided to turn off the ability to play games while driving. The decision was made after a review initiated by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA).

NHTSA announced in a notification from Tesla that this feature will only be available when the vehicle is not in motion after the software update.

Tesla did not make any announcement on the subject. The company founded by Elon Musk was criticized for this feature being dangerous.

In a review launched this week, NHTSA concluded that the feature could distract drivers, increasing the risk of accidents. Tesla's game feature is designed for passengers, not drivers.

When the game screen was opened, the user was asked to confirm that he was the passenger, not the driver. However, there was no obstacle for a driver to play games by making false statements.

Initially, this feature, which could only be used while the vehicles were stationary, allowed the game to be played on the move with an update that came in December 2020.

NHTSA also launched an investigation into Tesla's Autopilot system in August.

This investigation, which was initiated due to various accidents, including the system's failure to detect roadside emergency vehicles and hitting them from behind, continues.
