Toyota Hilux was chosen as the pick-up model of the year at the 6th edition of the 2022-2023 International Pick-up Awards (IPUA). This prestigious award was announced at the Solutrans 2021 fair in Lyon, France. Hilux has been holding the title of most preferred pick-up since 1968 when it was first introduced.
The International Pick-up Awards, held since 2009, highlight the most efficient one-tonne pick-up vehicles sold today. Hilux, which is also the winner of many awards, was appreciated by the jury members for its high road holding ability, durability and reliability as well as its powerful engines.
Hilux, which has stood out in terms of durability as well as high off-road performance for more than 50 years, has succeeded in carrying all its claims forward with its last generation. In addition to its powerful engines, it also offers a comfortable ride in daily use. This award once again highlighted Hilux's growing capabilities.
Hilux, which was first offered for sale in Japan in 1968, was introduced in the European market a year later. Since then, the Hilux remains one of the most successful models in the Toyota range.
Crowned with awards, Hilux's invincibility has proven itself countless times by conquering the Arctic, Icelandic volcanoes and Antarctica, as well as its achievements in the Dakar Rally.
Currently produced in six different countries, Hilux has a worldwide reputation, being sold in 180 countries. It stands out as the world's favorite pick-up, with sales of more than 18 million units globally.
